I normally don’t like to use ‘investment’ and ‘luxury handbag’ in the same sentence. I guess some bags could be seen as investments if you plan to keep them forever. I have a few low-level luxury items (Coach), and a couple of higher-end ones (Louis Vuitton).
Now I have a new baby to my collection: Teflar.
Created by designer Teflar Clemens, the Teflar bag is considered to the ‘Bushwick Birkin.’ It’s highly coveted and is usually a hot item with resellers.
Did I mention it’s also Black-owned and vegan?
During last summer, Teflar did something they’ve never done before – they had a special bag security program. It was where anyone could purchase as many bags they wanted, in as many colors as they wanted, and it would be shipped to them at a later date.
I took full advantage of it!
I decided I was going to get a small bag (which I regret; I should’ve gotten a medium-sized one). Bear and Maks picked out the color – bubblegum pink.
Then I waited.
And waited.
And waited.
Finally, right before Christmas, I received my bag!
Some takeaways:
I love the bag, but I really wish I got the medium size. The small bag is really just that. It’s enough to fit a very small wallet, phone, compact, and keys. That’s pretty much it.
The medium is about more than twice the size and I felt that was probably more my speed. But I do love how cute and dainty the small is.
It’s made of great quality vegan leather, which is a rarity. Some vegan leather can be weak and flimsy but this Teflar bag is very high-quality. Based on that alone, I highly recommend it.
In terms of the bag itself, I have no complaints.
Do you own a Teflar? Do you want to purchase one?
